About Martin Spizman
Martin got his start sailing small boats in the lakes of Southern California, eventually moving to the Bay area in search of more sailing opportunities. Within weeks of arriving he was volunteering at the Hyde Street Pier Maritime Museum where he got his first taste of Tallship sailing on the Museum's flagship, the schooner Alma. Since then, he has set foot on nearly every Tallship that called the San Francisco Bay home, and even crewed as a First Mate on a few.
Along the way he became an American Sailing Association (ASA) certified instructor so he could share his love of sailing with students. He now works for Davis Instruments in Hayward as a Test Engineer and Technical support representative for both their Marine and Weather product divisions.
