Island Yacht Club has a full program of racing throughout the year! Our Island Nights Friday evening beer can races take place in the Spring and Summer and Island Days is our Winter Sunday series. And if that’s not enough, we have special event races such as our Sadie Hawkins, Doublehanded Lightship, Jill and Jack +1, and the Silver Eagle.
The club boat, Island Girl, a Santana 22 is always looking for crew if you want to learn more about racing or develop your sailing skills. If Race Committee is an interest of yours, you can help out with that too. It’s a great way to really understand the Racing Rules of Sailing and get a front row seat to the always exciting starts! And to top the races off, sailors are invited back to the clubhouse for a delicious dinner and race awards with prizes.
If you have any questions about our racing program, email Race Chair John New or call 510-263-8388.
